Richard E. Topping, M.D. Dr. Topping relocated to Elkins, W.V. with his family in 1996 after completing his orthopedic training at the University of Virginia. He, his wife Teri and their three daughters Ashlee, Lindsay, and Bailey enjoy living in Elkins. Dr. Topping is an avid hunter who enjoys fishing, traveling and attending various athletic activities with his family. Dr. Topping is a general orthopedic surgeon with special interest in Joint Replacement Procedures and Sports Medicine Arthroscopy. He is a member of the West Virginia State Medical Society and the Orthopedic Association of North America. He is past Chief of Surgery at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. Dr. Topping serves as the team doctor and Co-Medical Director of Athletic Training at Alderson Broaddus College. He is also a clinical Professor of Athletic Training at Alderson Broaddus College.
